More Ladytron
Named after the Roxy Music song of the same name, Ladytron are Helen Marnie (Cleopatra), Daniel Hunt (Ulysees), Reuben Wu (Gloria), and Mira Aroyo (Babylon). The Liverpool based electronic noir outfit released their first single ‘He Took Her To A Movie’ in 1999 on Invicta Hi-Fi (Hayley’s Cake, Snap Ant). Using a sample from ‘The Model’ by Kraftwerk it was followed by ‘PlayGirl’. ‘Mutron’ and ‘Another Breakfast With You’ – all of which were highly critically acclaimed They then released album ‘604’ to more plaudits in 2001 and signed to Telstar releasing ‘Light & Magic’ in 2002 and the cult smash single ‘Seventeen’.
With the collapse of their label, the band eventually signed to major label Islands records and completed and released their latest LP ‘Witching Hour’ in 2005 with accompanying singles ‘Sugar’ and ‘Destroy Everything You Touch’ also released that year.
Ladytron run the highly successful Evol night based in Liverpool. Spring 2006 has seen the foursome head out on a huge headlining tour of America.
