Velvet Revolver

Scott Weiland – Lead Vocals
Slash – Guitar
Duff Mckagan – Bass
Matt Sorum – Drums
Dave Kushner – Guitar

Velvet Revolver has a truly unforgettable line up. Slash, Duff Mckagan and Matt Sorum are former members of Guns an Roses.  Scott Weiland was the front man of Stone Temple Pilots, whilst Dave Kushner has been in several reputable acts, including playing alongside Dave Navarro.

There is no doubt that they have been influenced by past success, but their aggressive sound is a unique melting pot of past and present.

In 2002 Slash, Duff and Matt re-united to play a benefit gig for musician Randy Castillo.  The success and popularity at the gig prompted them to continue playing together enlisting the talents of Dave, who had been a high school friend of Slash.

They attempted to recruit a fifth member in a somewhat unorthodox fashion.  Aided by American music and entertainment channel VH1 the group tried a pop idol style format to recruit their lead singer.  Yet despite the floods of entries they received, the band could not find anyone suitable.  At the same time Duff had been spending time with Scott Weiland, as time went on Scott became the most likely to take the role of lead singer.  Unlike any of the other young hopefuls, it was unlikely that he would feel in awe of the other group members, or feel unable to command the stage.

Their first gig together was in El Ray, Los Angeles.  It was an instant success and since their formation the Revolvers have continued to cement their talent and creativity on the world of rock, recording soundtracks for movies including The Hulk and The Italian Job.
