In a little village on the Scottish border, Bertwick-Upon-Tweed, bore four boys who formed to make Eastern Lane.
They first started recording their five-song demo in a farm shed out in the wilds.
Subsequently they copied addresses from their favourite records and sent them out with little expectation.
This is a story with a happy ending and we all like those! come October 2001 Eastern Lane found themselves with a record deal.
At the end of 2002, they recorded their debut LP Shades of Black working closely with Iain Harvie guitarist in Del-Amitri.
Five weeks later it was finished.
It all got a bit Lord of the flies towards the end explains Derek of their working conditions nice!
Their newest album The Article is a twelve-track feisty rock number which will cement these guys firmly into the world of rock stardom or at least get them out of that farm!
