Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter make up the half human / half robot duo known as Daft Punk, electrifying music into funky ass beats and foot tapping tunes since the early 90’s.
Originally known as ‘Darling’, they acquired their far more appropriate name after a review by Melody Maker described them as “A bunch of daft punk”.
"The New Wave," their first of many singles was released on the label Soma in 1993. This was quickly chased by the underground success of ‘Da Funk’. By 1996 they were signed to Virgin, flying high and released their debut album ‘Homework’ within a year, giving them UK Top Ten status and the recognition they deserved.
