Gigwise Is Go!

Gigwise Is Go!

After months of intense activity at Gigwise HQ, we’re very proud to announce that the new Gigwise is now fully launched!

Together with radically redesigning the site, we’ve placed more emphasis on reader interactivity and user generated content to make the overall experience of visiting Gigwise even more engaging.

Interactivity

Joining Gigwise by creating a user profile gives you the ultimate AAA experience and opens up a host of exciting features.

As a registered user you can submit your own star ratings to reviews, make friends and network with other users, interact on the integrated forum, freely leave comments or add your favourite artists to your profile by simply clicking the +AAA button which appears throughout Gigwise.

By clicking the +AAA button alongside upcoming listed gigs, you can also create your own personal gig calendar and view other users’ calendars.

User profiles now have a clearer layout and you can easily pimp them by submitting photos, adding snippets of blurb about yourself, the music you like, your favourite quotes, links to social networking site pages, your favourite websites and much, much more.

Importantly, posts from the forum, classified and ‘band members wanted’ sections now appear alongside Gigwise content on the right hand side of every page, fully integrating these user generated areas with the entire site.

The Redesign

Gigwise is now much more aesthetically pleasing and easier to navigate. The wider design has allowed us to include more content on each page, so there’s a lot more to choose from after every click you make.

The front page boasts a revolving main feature box, alternating between four different articles and there is also more emphasis on the photo section, gig tickets, tours, videos and popular searches by our readers themselves.

In keeping with the emphasis on user generated content, on every page readers can view the most commented and most viewed articles on Gigwise for that week.

The various sections of the site have now been split up into separate sub-groups so navigation is simpler and there is more choice available – for example, together with music news, the news section features Tour News, Festival News, New Bands, The Biz, Current Affairs and Gigwise Blogs.

Every part of the website has been honed and improved, just log on to see for yourself.

ABOUT GIGWISE:

Since its launch in June 2001, Gigwise has consistently been at the cutting edge of music news, often breaking exclusive stories on music’s biggest acts. Its fresh, uncompromising and often controversial approach and ability to identify breaking acts has won it a loyal core of ever expanding users of over 50,000 visitors a day.

According to official reports, Gigwise is the No1 Independent Music Portal in the UK. ComScore shows that Gigwise has the largest readership in the ‘Entertainment – Music’ channel for an independent music portal.

ComScore is the industry’s preferred source of internet audience measurement for advertising agencies, publishers, marketers and financial analysts.
