Give It A Name: Underoath Blog From The Road

Tampa rockers Underoath are currently slaying audiences on the European leg of the Give It A Name tour. Tim from the band took time out from his busy schedule of 'hanging' to tell Gigwise how the shows had been going so far. The band have also recorded a tour diary and sent us some pictures.

Here's what Tim had to say:

So we're into our European tour  which has been amazing thus far. We take every chance we get to tour with Inner Party System, Thursday and TBS. It's made up of a bunch really sweet dudes.

We had a really long 10 hour day to get here on planes, and then we arrived in Germany. Our first show was a mess, as all of our equipment that had been flown over failed and we had to cut more than half of our set. I hate technical difficulties but this time it infused us with a rage that translated well to the show. We got off stage as tired as if we had played a full show. The landscapes were beautiful in Germany.

We finally got to go out on our first day off and see some sites in Cologne. We spent some time walking around downtown, but the highlight of the day was hanging out at the club with all of the dudes from the tour and hanging out hard all night.

We were parked at a really awesome hippie compound. The locals said there's no violence and no cops. My kind of place. There were massive buildings everywhere and they all had small venues and random shows were going on at the same time. The show that night was really cool.
The only day since, that was as eventful was our kickball ball game with a brewing rivalry with TBS from our last tour. My team killed the first game and then we got killed in the second. It seems these days you're only as good as your last effort, so in that respect I'm on the losing end of things.

All in all, this tour has been amazing so far. It's good to see all of our old friends, and make some new ones. It's a good day to be where I am. I feel blessed.
