Mercury Prize 2015 albums - listen to them all here Photo: Wenn

This years Mercury nominations are a real mixed bag of the familiar, the obscure and the downright strange.

From Florence + Machine, to Benjamin Clementine, to Aphex Twin, the awards have really excelled themselves this year in terms of unpredictability.

Mercury Prize host Lauren Lavern said: “It’s always a really exciting moment when the Mercury’s shortlist is finally revealed. It’s a perfect snapshot of where music is right now, and where it might be heading in the future. All this year’s nominees deserve their place so it will be thrilling to find out just who wins the Mercury Prize.”

The awards will be held at the Radio Theatre in Broadcasting House on Friday 20 November.

Check out each of the nominated albums below.
