We've compiled a list of songs that somehow manage to liven up even the most boring office parties.

The painful fact is that these tracks are true cheesey party classics and we can all admit to flooding towards the dancefloor to mimic Steps, Whigfield and Wham! Of course, the level of alcohol consumed is usually a huge factor to these cheesy hits being such floor-fillers.

These are the kind of songs that can cause much embarrassment at work the next week if you find yourself enjoying them a little too much.

Here's our list of the worst office party songs that still manage entice so many of us onto the dancefloor - or perhaps it is the best, it really depends how you look at it.

Whigfield 'Saturday Night': From a school disco to an office party, has been a crowd pleaser across generations since it's release in 1994. Let's face it, we've all done the moves to this one at some time or another. Or is that just us?

Wham 'Wake Me Up Before You Go Go': Arguably Wham!'s best known song and certainly the most popular when it comes to cutting some shapes infront of your colleagues. This was the pop duo's first UK number one hit and unfortunately, it epitomises everything wrong with awkward office parties.

Dexy's Midnight Runners 'Come On Eileen': As with the majority of our list, 'Come on Eileen' is another gem from the 1980s. As soon as we hear those first violin chords we know we are in for three minutes of unadulterated office party cheese.

Spandau Ballet 'Gold': Tony Hadley and his gang had to make the list with this 80's offering. The video for 'Gold' contains the longest-held note by any male artist in any song released during the 1980s. Think you could match it? A real anthem of the 80s, 'Gold' was as uplifting as it was floor-filling.

Steps 'Tragedy': Another classic track that we can all confess to attempting the trademark dance moves that came with it. The 1998 Steps cover of the Beegees' hit 'Tragedy' seems to be the most popular version held by Disc Jockey's and will go down a storm at any office do.

The Gap Band 'Oops Upside Your Head': If a DJ is having a tough time getting people dancing, they will be sure to pull this record out. This funk track seems to make party-goers somewhat uncontrollably charge towards the dance floor and sit down in a line, swaying from side-to-side. There aren't too many songs that have this kind of power, so be wary of this if you don't want to get too close to the 'office weirdo'.

Village People 'YMCA': Who would have thought that a builder, Policeman, biker and a Red Indian would get together and make one of the biggest dance-along songs ever created. The catchy tune and suggestive lyrics of 'YMCA' made for an absolute disco smash hit.

Los Del Rio 'Macarena': Yet another disco classic that has had us all trying desperately to keep up with the moves of Los del Rio. The Spanish dance song has been bringing work colleagues together since 1994 and doesn't look like stopping any time soon. Once ranked as the biggest one hit wonder ever by VH1, 'Macarena' is possibly one of the worst songs you will hear at any work party, but that won't stop people from enjoying it.

Hanson 'Mmm Bop': Three of the most annoying siblings in the world thought it would be a good idea to make a song with lyrics that are sounds rather than words. "Mmmbop, ba duba dop" is as about as profound as the Hanson brothers get. This won't add much to your Christmas bash, but there's no doubt that everyone will be singing along to this Christmas ice-breaker.

Vanilla Ice 'Ice Ice Baby': American rapper, Vanilla Ice used samples from the bassline of Queen's 'Under Pressure' to create this crap party classic. The song played a huge role in introducing hip hop to a mainstream audience and won't look out of place in any work party playlist.

Billy Ray Cyrus 'Achy Breaky Heart': It's rare that a country song makes it into the mainstream, but this exception to the rules saw huge success on the 80's. Be warned, this song could cause impromptu line-dancing.

Tom Jones 'It's Not Unusual': Our oldest entry comes from Welsh bellower, Tom Jones and his track 'It's Not Unusual'. After a few festive drinks, this song will have everyone singing whether they actually like the song or not.

Rick Astley 'Never Gonna Give You Up': Last but by no means least, 'Never Gonna Give You Up' is a cheesy classic that will live on forever in all of our office party hearts. We all know exactly what song is coming within the first few seconds of hearing Astley's trademark vocals. It doesn't matter how much you hate it, the urge to hit the dancefloor will be difficult to resist, but to save your embarrassment at work on Monday morning, resist it you must!
