It will probably surprise no-one to discover that The Kills' Jamie Hince and his wife Kate Moss do not travel light.
The couple recently spent the weekend in Banffshire in Scotland to celebrate the 40th birthday of the nutritionist Rose Ferguson. The sheer volume of their luggage for just two nights away was revealed by model and friend Mary Charteris, who posted a picture of Hince struggling with no less than 5 suitcases, one shoulder bag, a travel pillow and a blanket. The impressive haul reached a height slightly taller than Hince himself.
The Cut responded to this photo by writing, "We all come with some baggage, but Kate Moss exceeds the rest of us in that department." Mail Online, meanwhile, asserted, "Guitarist Jamie Hince knew when he married Kate Moss in 2011 that the supermodel came with a lot of baggage. But perhaps he didn’t appreciate just how much."
We feel compelled to point out at this stage, that Kate Moss actually isn't in this photo, nor did Charteris say that it was Moss's luggage. So why are we assuming it's all her hers? Who's to say the majority of the load doesn't belong to Hince?
The guitarist is a famously sharp dresser, owns an old Vivienne Westwood jacket that belonged to Johnny Thunders, and says "Fashion is in my psyche." So perhaps the sentence should have read, "Model Kate Moss knew when she married Jamie Hince in 2011 that the guitarist came with a lot of baggage. But perhaps she didn’t appreciate just how much."
Whoever it is that's packing that many belongings for a weekend away, one thing's for certain - they need a talking to.
