The NME awards were last night, and by far and away the most entertaining moment was Dean Blunt's ballsy move of sending a random, unknown man in an indie rocker's jacket to collect his award in his place.
Blunt won The Philip Hall Radar award - an award set in place to recognise newcomers. However, the nomination and win of the award seemed more like an offensive insult than an accolade, as Blunt has roughly seven different albums to his name. Hardly a newcomer. More a hard-working talent who has been here a while... And who deserved a better award, in all honesty.
Hence it's unsurprising that Blunt sent someone else in his place. And at that, a man dressed in a military jacket that wouldn't look out of place floating round the bargain bins of military stores in Portobello. Or on a member of The Libertines. But definitely not on Dean Blunt.
Fam done good. Congrats to Dean Blunt on his @NME award... pic.twitter.com/kjsaGUuuW9

Funnier still that many poor souls thought it genuinely was Blunt heading up to the stage to accept his award...
The NME live blog read: "The award, for most promising ultra-new shiny act, goes to Dean Blunt! Weddun, Dean. He seems to get lost on his way to the stage, but gets there in time to say 'I've finally made it!'"
What a subtle but excellent troll.
