There is a rather strong argument to be made that the music taste of David Cameron's wife should be fairly low down on the country's priorities.
It should definitely rank behind, say, her husband's attitude towards immigration and his party's dismantling of the NHS. Be that as it may, we are a music website... so let's talk about SamCam loving Poliça.
In a world where Ed Miliband liking Bastille is about as edgy as it gets (and, frankly, that's OK - we'd rather he concentrate on being an effective politician) it came as something of a shock to hear that Samantha Cameron is a fan of both The War On Drugs and Poliça, and listens to 6 Music.
To many news outlets, Samantha's declaration of love for Poliça was akin to her declaring herself a supporter of Marxism. Key words like "radical feminist", "androgynous singer" and "violent, sexual imagery" were shouted from the rooftops with a sort of terrified glee.
Whether or not those descriptors make you more or less inclined to listen to Poliça (the answer should be more), we strongly recommend you have a listen to their 2013 second album, Shulamith. That is, if you can cope with the album's bloody artwork, and the fact that it was named after radical feminist (there we go again) Shulamith Firestone.

You really must stop doing this to us Samantha - the world has only just recovered from the news that you "potter around" No. 10 singing Azealia Banks' '212', which includes the repeated refrain, "I guess that cunt getting eaten." Hopefully she listened to the rest of Banks' stellar debut album, Broke With Expensive Taste, after it finally materialised.
The War On Drugs meanwhile, a band that Samantha also turned her husband onto, topped many album of the year lists with their third LP, Lost In The Dream, last year.
We look forward very much to hearing any future recommendations Samantha might have in the coming months. Hopefully, after 7 May, her family will have a lot more time on their hands.
