With a name like The Virginmarys, you could be forgiven for expecting to hear some wholesome christian rock. However, this Cheshire-based trio are not church-goers and the unholy rock music they produce would certainly give a different edge to any wedding, baptism or or Sunday service.
The Virginmarys have been working non-stop to get their music to the masses, supporting the likes of Slash, Feeder and Ash along the way. The band now plan to keep building on that platform by 'spreading the world as much as possible and being as busy as we can.'
The entity of this band can be found in last month's single 'Dead Man's Shoes' which is a track that delivers the intense rock hooks mixed with a Nirvana style vocal, making for a hugely impressive sound that would not look out-of-place on the headliner's stage of Download or Sonisphere.

Zepplin-esque with a dusting of AC/DC and Nirvana mixed with a load of passion are just a few of the reasons The Virginmarys have been selected to support so many other bands.
Spending so much time on the touring circuit has really payed off for the band's musicianship as well as their number of fans, which is clearly very important to them.
"We just love jamming together," says frontman, Ally Dikaty."Touring is what we are about. We prefer to be on the road. It's better to be busy than sitting around."
The Virginmarys are set to release their debut album 'Kings of Conflict' in February 2013 and Dikaty admitted that although waiting for the right time, the album didn't take long to thrash out.
"We did a series of EPs but we wanted to wait and make sure we had the right tracks for the album. We went into the Chapel Studios in Lincolnshire and banged it down live, so it was done it two to three weeks. We wanted to keep everything a raw and live as we could."

Such a refreshing take on music production is welcome in a world where so many records are over-produced and over-thought. It shows that the band believe in the music they create enough to not mess around too much with the tracks.
Although touring with a plethora of musical talent, Dickaty admitted that supporting Slash was difficult to take in. He couldn't believe his eyes when the Guns 'n' Roses legend wore a band t- shirt.
Dickaty laughed before reflecting on the experience: "He came on wearing one in Manchester. We didn't know he was going to do that and it was just crazy. One of the highlights of my life. Just completely surreal."

The band don't plan to rest of their rock laurels next year either as they plan a tour of America amongst lots of other things.
"We want to do a coast to coast tour in America. Hopefully get to all the big UK festivals as well as more television and radio. Basically, get on what we can and just be as busy as we can. Spread the word as much as possible."
The Virginmarys are a band with subtance that have been beavering away for what must seem like a lifetime, but such an impressive back-story and such a relentless work-ethic can only mean a bright future for a band in demand.
