Blackeye are doing their level best to revitalise the Britpop movement and will be bringing their female-fronted buzz to London's Shacklewell Arms as they headline this month's Gigwise Presents night (19 March, 2013).
With influences harking back to nineties bands such as Echobelly and Sleeper, frontwoman Chloe Little revealed that she is hoping to bring female fronted bands back to the mainstream - even if she has to get a little rough along the way.
"I do really have to fight, even with the band to get things exactly how I want them," says Little, explaining what it's like being the only girl in a band that she formed.
"It's much harder for girls, but I want to do this and I wouldn't be here if I didn't."
Blackeye have been compared by the likes of Elastica and not just because they are a female-fronted guitar band. They are creating the same kind of feisty, thrashing guitars with an ice-cool frontwoman that leave you begging for the next huge chorus.

Inspired by the British sound of the nineties, Little hopes her band can lead the way for new female-fronted guitar groups.
She adds: "In the nineties I guess people didn't even care if you were male of female. Now, it’s like we have taken a step back which is a shame.
"We’d love to be that [pioneers of female-fronted groups], that’s my dream. I know there have been so many female pop things over the last few years. There’s been electro girl things, but girl guitar bands are really rare."
Blackeye will headline the Gigwise Presents evening on 19 March 2013
When quizzed on the band's name, Little reveals there isn't much of a story behind it, but admits to being given a black eye by a boy when she was younger.
Little says: "For the name, I just wanted something that felt forceful and quite immediate.
"I had a black eye when I was younger. A boy punched me in the face when I was seven because I was p**sing him off while my mum was in an aerobics class and I was outside annoying him.
"He kept telling me to stop and I didn't, so he came up and punched me in the face, which was probably deserved.
On Tuesday 19 March, Blackeye will headline Gigwise Presents on a bill that consists of some of the most impressive up and coming bands around including Secret Son and Brick Wall.
Speaking of just what kind of live show we can expect from the London foursome, Little says, "It’s very fast and very short. I always wanted the live show to have a Ramones kind of feel.
"Everything, one after the other, quick little moments, like a whirlwind."
