The news that the Rolling Stones may have banned the BBC from showing their Glastonbury performance will come as a dissapointment to the thousands out there who couldn't get a ticket.

Watching Glasto footage from the comfort of your armchair with a chilled cider and Chinese takeaway, another world away from the mess, the mud, the queues and the carnage is one of the greatest pleasures of the summer.

But The Stones want none of it.

However, Mick Jagger and co are not the only ones out there who are sensitive to this kind of thing. Some artists ban recording for damage control, some fear it ruins the live experience, and others just want fans to 'live in the moment'.

Here are the acts that don't want to captured on tape or film

Rolling Stones
Despite 50 years in the business, The Rolling Stones still aren't comfortable being caught on camera, and have taken against BBC plans to broadcast their headline set at Glastonbury. Discussions with Mick Jagger are said to be 'ongoing'

Rage Against The Machine
RATM didn't have their blinding performance from Reading Festival 2008 televised - probably to prevent widespread panic about Guantamo Bay prisoners escaping and mastering the art of heavy metal.

Beyonce
Queen Bey recently banned professional photographers from snapping her on stage. Assumingly to avoid the spread of photos like this...

...meaning instead we end up with photos like this:

Prince
'His Royal Badness' is known for banning many journalists from recording interviews, and some from even taking notes. Here's the reaction to expect should you whip out a camera or a dictaphone:

Savages
London goth-punks Savages presented gig-goers with this typically poetic notice at recent shows:

Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Karen O and the New York art-rockers put it much more bluntly with "PUT THAT SHIT AWAY"
