In May 2012 we wrote a piece on Gigwise about a new release from underground Swedish pop duo Icona Pop. That release was a song called 'I Love It'. The single sank without a trace - or so it seemed...

13 months later, 'I Love It' is one of the biggest pop tracks of 2013. Icona Pop have enjoyed genuine word of mouth success with their punchy, Charli XCX-penned pop smash, the track picking up fans online and gathering pace across the globe. Now set to crash into the UK Top Ten (following its stateside success) we caught up with Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo to discuss their worldwide success during a recent London visit.

The girls discussed the years they have spent working on their debut album, how they consider each other 'soulmates' and how the success of 'I Love It' has taken even them by surprise, as parts of the world they had never considered fell for their no-nonsense pop...
