12: July, 2013: Green Day have been through some tough times since the release of their epic album trilogy Uno, Dos, Tre in 2012, with frontman Billie Joe Armstrong checking into rehab at the end of last year for substance abuse.

There was no sign of any problems last night however, as the band performed a spectacular show at Portugal's Optimus Alive festival, headlining day one of this year's event.

Headlining the first night of the 2013 event, the band played for over two hours on the main stage, thrilling fans with tracks such as 'Jesus Of Surburbia', modern classics including 'American Idiot' and of course, iconic tracks like 'Welcome To Paradise' from Dookie, the album that soundtracked a million puberties the world over.

During the show, the band invited a young fan on stage for some unprovoked hero worship, had a man dressed as a rabbit dance with them and other such punk antics. See photos of all these and more below...
