This weekend, Lovebox returns to London, with the best in pop, r&b and hip-hop artists performing in Victoria Park and under the exceptionally hot UK sun. But if there is one artist we are most excited about seeing at Lovebox this weekend, it's Lil' Kim. Her live performances are rare, especially in the UK, and a festival gig from the first female of hip-hop is really quite something.
The rapper carved her niche in the music industry with aggressive beats, a powerful knowledge of her own sexual presence and a key role in The Notorious BIG's hip-hop collective, Junior Mafia.
Kim has been wrapped up in a number of tabloid controversies in recent years (her feud with Nicki Minaj, plastic surgery questions) but with her return to the UK stage this weekend, the 'Crush On You' rapper is back to what she does best - the music.
Gear yourself up for some serious sunday Lovebox excitement as we celebrate the spectacular and fascinating individual that is Lil Kim...
Look out London, Lil'Kim is coming for us this weekend
She has her sights set on Sunday afternoon at this year's Lovebox festival
And she is as excited about it as we are, oh yes
Hang on. That's more like it
And it is going to be VERY hot in London this weekend, so she will need to remember to keep hydrated
Lil'Kim doesn't perform live often, so we are sure her Sunday afternoon set at Lovebox will be one to remember. It will definitely be the weekend's fiercest show
Expect some sexually-charged statements about female equality
And some seriously underrated hip-hop hits like this
And this
And if we're REALLY lucky, she will perform this
But just don't mention Nicki Minaj. They don't get on
But we much prefer Kim. See you in the front row
