So there’s pretty much only one thing us moshers are still talking about this week and that’s Vans Warped Tour. Friends are nursing their circle-pit injuries, I’m still trying to regain my voice from going bloody ape-shit to Yellowcard (yes this is still allowed when you’re 22) and everyone is saying "did you see the Watsky jump?"
Enough of the Watsky jump. He’s an idiot and should leave the stage-dives to Dillinger Escape Plan. (See here if you’re really that bothered - or somehow haven't seen it yet).
Another hot topic of discussion from the Warped tour is that ever so delightful, (not so) surprise acoustic set from A Day To Remember. The cat was pretty much out the bag after they announced they’d be playing an in-store at Banquet Records the day after the festival. Still, they took to their seats on the Jagermeister stage on the Sunday of Warped Tour and treated us all to toned-down versions of ‘City of Ocala’, ‘All I Want’ plus a couple others from new album Common Courtesy. The performance firmly cemented the fact that they are going to absolutely destroy Alexandra Palace alongside pop-punkers The Story So Far when they return in February.
Here’s a slightly shaky video of A Day To Remember perfoming ‘All I Want’ at Vans Warped Tour UK.
In more A Day To Remember news - after much dispute with their record label Victory Records this year, A Day To Remember have now been given the rights to physically release Common Courtesy on November 25th (until now it’s only been available digitally). SUCCESS.
Now, onto new music. There are two records I’m totally digging this week, the first of which is the debut album to come from Peterborough rockers We Are Fiction. The album, titled One For Sorrow is full of pure anthems that will leave any crying Alexisonfire fan screaming for joy, trust.
Second up is the new EP from Fort Hope called Choices, a handful of tracks, which truly establish this band onto the scene. ‘New Life’ has got an almighty chorus and feel-good vibe, while ‘The Rapture’ and ‘I Got Style’ feature pummelling drum patterns and astonishing vocals from Jon Gaskin. The guys also recently covered David Guetta’s ‘Titanium’ whilst in the studio. Check out the super ace video of it below:
Everything’s gone a bit quiet on the tour front, it’s too damn cold for shows right now let’s face it. If you’re still dreaming of Warped and shouting Billy Talent lyrics in your sleep, (just me then?) You can lap up the last taste of it on the Kevin Says Tour featuring iTCH, RDGLDGRN, The Hype Theory and Ghostown at The Underworld in Camden tonight (Friday 22nd). Or, if you know what you’re doing in five months time, then get your debit cards out and pick up a ticket for the April 2014 Deaf Havana tour.

I guess that pretty much covers everything you need to know in the world of mosh-pop music this week, if you liked this let the guys at Gigwise know and they might let me back next week.
