The 1975 have revealed that they have begun working on the follow up to their eponymous debut, even describing one track they've made as "bangin'". Check out the full interview below.

Speaking to Moshcam during their stint in Australia for the Big Day Out festival, frontman Matt Healy hinted early sessions for their second album are going very well indeed. "We were recording the guitars on this new song before we went out, came back, listened to them - bangin'," he enthused. "Massive tune. There's a lot of consistency coming together for this new album."

Hinting that it will be a while before fans hear the follow-up to their self-titled debut, which was released in September 2013, Healy added: "We're quite excited because there's so much happening and so it's far away from when it's gonna come out."

Healy and drummer George Daniel also discuss ridiculous rider requests, the terrifying reality of being a sex symbol, weird fan fiction and the mind-boggling rumour Healy slept with US actress Rashida Jones.

The 1975 are currently on a world tour, playing a series of shows across Europe before returning to the UK April 6 to play a special show at the Royal Albert Hall. The Manchester band will then embark on a string of dates across the US.
