The blend of electronica and indie is a tough one to master, but when everything falls into place the results can be magnificent. Fuck Art, Let's Dance's debut album Atlas is one such example, and is streaming now exclusively in full on Gigwise. Listen below.
A Hamburg collective to file somewhere between Cut Copy and Foals (probably close to the spot French duo Juvenlies inhabit), Fuck Art, Let's Dance specialise in uplifting electronic pop, striking a perfect balance between dancefloor friendly beats and relentless guitar riffs. They never miss a beat across their 13 track debut, Atlas, which is out now.
Atlas is a relentlessly feel-good collection, from the stabbing synths of 'Home' to the rave-infused sounds of 'Fake Love', which is destined to become an essential track for any indie disco from now until eternity. 'Those Dancing Days' echoes early Digitalism, 'Divided' touches base with eighties power ballads and album standout 'Sense' is a near-perfect pop smash - if it wasn't for that not-very-mainstream name they opted for.
