“We just wanted to continue to raise the bar following the first one,” says J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League co-founder Rook Flair when discussing new single 'Money Dance II', featuring Rick Ross, Mack Wilds and Camp-Lo. A follow-up to last year’s mega smash of the same name, originally produced by Jake One it featured The-Dream and helped close out Rick Ross’ Black Market LP - his last on Def Jam Records.

So why the sequel? According to Rook, it was a spontaneous thought sparked during a studio session that inspired him to play with the record. “We had nothing on the schedule,” he says. “So I just came up with some chords, had Zach Wilson write a hook, and then we discussed who should sing it and we realised Mack Wilds was the perfect choice.”

Surprising listeners with an unexpected collaboration, who’d have thought that celebrated Hip Hop duo Camp-Lo would end up on a track with Rick Ross? “The smoothness of the record just reminded me of them,” Rook says of the decision to get them on the record. “So I hit up Ski Beatz and told him we had this joint Camp-Lo just had to be on. He gave me their numbers and I took it from there.

“Colione came up with the idea to switch the beat up to Camp-Lo’s classic ‘Luchini (AKA This Is It)’, and then Kenny went ahead and replayed the whole thing to sound like it. It was such a dope concept.”

Aside from releasing 'Money Dance II', J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League also unleash their SUB ZERO drum kit - a follow-up to their recently released Catalog Classics Vol.1 sound kit. “It’s a game changer,” explains Rook. “It’s the drum kit of all drum kits. Nobody has ever provided a kit like this. There’s no other kit as precise, or as well thought out as this.”

SUB ZERO is a playable library of over 400 sounds for Kontakt 5 meticulously captured and processed by J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League. It begins with an original and diverse library of 76 kicks, 93 snares, 49 claps, 82 high hats, 30 808s and 71 effects. Including a simple, yet powerful set of sound manipulation tools – 4 band EQ, amplitude envelope, pitch envelope, low and high pass filters and portamento - every sound is made to inspire right out of the box. Users can add a subtle touch of tone and movement, or transform the sound completely without ever leaving the GUI.
