Ed Sheeran has confirmed that his new album, which will be named X, is set to be released on 23 June.

The singer made the announcement on his Twitter account, and also revealed that a short live preview of 'Sing', the first single from the new album, will go online tonight (5 April) at 8pm.

Sheeran's debut album was named +, so Sheeran's passion for mathematic symbols clearly shows no signs of letting up. The album, which includes singles such as 'The A Team' and 'Lego House', has gone 6x Platinum in the UK, and Gold in the US.

Sheeran's new single 'Sing' will get its world exclusive premiere on BBC Radio 1 on Monday 7 April.
