Coldplay have confirmed the release of 'The Coldplay Timeline' as well as confirming that they are working on their seventh album, entitled A Head Full Of Dreams.

The note reads 'Hello everyone. We are in the studio working on A Head Full Of Dreams. While that's happening Phil and Anchorman and The Oracle and Roadie #42 have been getting the timeline updated. Here it is and thank you very much to them and you."

The Coldplay Timeline has been released today, just a week after Coldplay won four awards at the Webby Awards for their online output. The new venture allows the band to share exclusive photos, videos and blogs directly to their fans. The band have updated the Timeline to 12 May, which shows a scribbled note declaring that the Timeline is live and that they are currently working on their new album.

The new website also offers the first ever gigography of Coldplay, listing every show that they've ever played, and allows fans to share their own photos of that particular show. The gigography features over 900 different shows. As well as photos and videos, blogs, articles, interviews and audio clips will also be uploaded to the Timeline to keep the band in touch with their fans.

Coldplay's new album 'A Head Full of Dreams' is currently being recorded. More information will be reported here when it becomes available.

Last year Martin told Radio 2's Jo Whiley that A Head Full Of Dreams will be their seventh and potentially final album - one that could be a departure from the stripped back fare of Ghost Stories. Speaking on the radio, Martin explained how it would be full of "bombast" and that everything was already "mapped out".

"You know Harry Potter and things have instalments, and you know we just made an introspective record and didn't really do much around it," he said. "Secretly we may have something else in mind, but I accidentally told Zane [Lowe] about it." He added: "We're trying to make something colourful and uplifting and we're just having quite a good time making it because we've spent so long not making that kind of thing."
