Muse look likely to hit number one in the US Billboard 200 album chart for the first time ever with their seventh studio album Drones next week. Music biz pundits are predicting the album released on June 8 will be Muse's biggest hit record in the States ever.

The album looks likely to shift over 75,000 units which would be enough to catapult it into the top slot as the Billboard 200 chart ranks album sales using traditional album sales as well as streams.

The album is likely to smash all previous Muse appearances in the Billboard 200 with fans likely to spend the whole weekend listening to the album back to back.

Muse has racked up previous chart successes Stateside before with 2012's release The 2nd Law peaking at number 2.

Drones looks set to top the UK Album Chart this weekend also, with Official Chart Company data showing the album is outselling everything else at the top of the chart combined.

The band will controversially be appearing at this weekend's Download Festival with many heavy rock fans protesting against their appearance. They have, however, been offered unlikely support from Fall Out Boy.
