Dexter's Michael C. Hall is set to star in David Bowie's new stage show Lazarus - which is based on Bowie's role in 1976 film The Man Who Fell To Earth.
The film was based on Walter Tevis' 1963 sci-fi novel of the same name, about a humanoid alien who comes to earth to find water for his dying planet. Alongside Bowie, who, unsurprisingly, played said alien, the film also starred Rip Torn and Candy Clark.
It's now been revealed that an off-Broadway production of the tale, which will called Lazarus, is being co-written by Bowie and playwright Enda Walsh, who wrote Once. It'll be staged by Belgian avant-garde theatre director Ivo van Hove.

Michael C. Hall, who's most famous for playing the titular role in US TV series Dexter, as well as his roles in Six Feet Under, Cold In July and Kill Your Darlings, will take on Bowie's part.
As Billboard reports, it's not currently clear whether the production will be a musical or simply a play featuring songs, but it has been confirmed that Bowie will compose the music, and will also provided new arrangements of previously recorded tracks.
Preview performance of Lazarus begin in New York in November, before the show opens to the public in December.
