As Iron Maiden gear up to return with new music following Bruce Dickinson's recovery from a tumour, the band have revealed that the frontman is 'singing better than ever'.
The metal icons will be releasing their new album The Book of Souls in September, now that Dickinson has been given the all-clear from cancer.
But how did his condition affect the album?
“Well, it didn’t at all, because Bruce didn’t know and none of us knew anything about it,” bassist Steve Harris tells Kerrang. "There was no inkling of it. He’d finished all his vocal bits completely anyway and there were some other bits and pieces we were doing. Really, we didn’t know anything – he didn’t show any signs at all.
"I mean, his singing, when you hear it… he’s singing better than ever."
