Radiohead have been named as new favourites to record the theme song to the upcoming James Bond movie Spectre, after betting was suspended following a suspiciously high bet was placed.
It was previously reported that Ellie Goulding had recorded the theme, after she released a photo of herself leaving Abbey Road studios with the caption 'that's a wrap'. However, a spokesman has now revealed that these were just sessions for her upcoming new album.
Now, the unlikeliest of candidates Radiohead have been named as favourites to record the theme by bookmakers William Hill, after an anonymous gambler in Middlesex placed a bet of £15,000 on the Kid A icons.
We daresay a fair few conspiracy theorists are also gathering around the following 007 tweet being shared by longtime Radiohead and Thom Yorke producer and collaborator Nigel Godrich:
New 007 trailer says Bond's car can go 0-60 in 3.2 seconds. That's SO badass. It's only 0.4 sec slower than a Tesla. https://t.co/XEiJy6nd1o

It would be pretty cool - the dark themes of the new Bond movie Spectre would be well suited to the idiosyncratic and introverted sounds of Radiohead. Plus, they're a British institution and already covered the classic 'Nobody Does It Better' from The Spy Who Loved Me:
Yorke and Godrich surprised fans at Latitude earlier this month when they played a secret set, while Radiohead have been working on the follow-up to The King Of Limbs for the best part of a year. It is expected for a 2016 release, with the band heading back into the studio in September.
