The Libertines have pushed back the release of their long-awaited third album, Anthems For Doomed Youth.

The record was due to drop on 4 September, but now the Albion boys will be unleashing it one week later due to the popular demand for their Somewhere Over The Railings run of special events.

The events currently entail a 'week of shenanigans' from 31 August at London's Dublin Castle in Camden, with many 'surprises' for fans among a photo exhibition, documentary screening, album playback and pub quiz.

Now, the band state that Anthems For Doomed Youth will be released on 11 September to "allow for more special events" for fans - with announcements expected shortly.

The band say: "A pop-up shop, Bucket Shop, opens on August 24th from the “Rock ’N’ Roll Rescue” charity shop situated next door to the Dublin Castle at 96 Parkway. The store will be selling and displaying rare memorabilia, trinkets, treasures and art and will be open until September 4th. Every purchase will include a donation to the Rock N Roll Rescue charity. Coffee will also be being served courtesy of “Tim Peaks”. Opening times are week one 12PM - 8:00 PM, week two 1PM - 9:00PM.

"'Somewhere Over The Railings opens the day after the bands headlining appearance at the Reading Festival, on August 31st for 5 days at The Dublin Castle, 94 Parkway, Camden Town, NW1 7AN. Tickets for all the Dublin Castle events sold out within two minutes of going on sale, all proceeds of which will be going to “Rock ’n’ Roll Rescue”. Art directed and curated by the band, the week of events at The Dublin Castle will feature a new photo exhibition, a Libertines pub quiz, a new documentary by Roger Sargent filmed in Thailand whilst making ‘Anthems For Doomed Youth,” playbacks of the new album prior to release, exclusive prizes and plenty of surprises.

"“Rock ‘n’ Roll Rescue” in conjunction with the Dublin Castle sells musical instruments, amps, vinyl, CDs, cassettes, T-shirts, gold records… and donates to local charities, such as the local food bank (“The Trussel Trust”) and “Food For All” which feeds 1000 people a week."
