A spokesperson for Liam Gallagher has crushed the tabloid rumours that the band will reform in 2016.

According to reports from The Daily Star, the Gallagher brothers plus bandmates Andy Bell and Gem Archer are in "serious talks" about launching a comeback tour.

The tabloid's source said: "Other bands have reunited and had a fantastic pay day so it makes sense for everyone involved. It has been discussed seriously – it’s only a matter of time."

Apparently the brothers G settled their differences in January during a family wedding in Ireland.

However, when approached by NME, a spokesperson for Liam Gallagher has deemed the rumours, unsurprisingly, "totally unfounded".

When asked by Chris Moyles on Radio X about the chance of an Oasis reunion, the High Flying Birds leader said: "Probably not in the very near future. One should never say never though, when someone’s waving a cheque for a quarter of a billion…" He added, "I'm sure there are countless, thousands of people who would love it [an Oasis reunion] but there’s one that wouldn’t…me."

Regarding the claims that the brothers have patched up, Noel cleared that up in the same interview too saying that the last time he saw Liam was: "when City won the league about 8-9 months ago… I don’t hang out with my family, I never did…"

Noel Gallagher is among the acts joining Chris Moyles for the Radio X Road Trip, alongside the likes of Bloc Party, Stereophonics and Courteeners. For more information, click here.
