Deftones have issued an emotional statement, about how they were in the venue when ISIS terrorists struck the Bataclan venue during the Eagles Of Death Metal show - killing over 120 music fans.

The band were among those to cancel their upcoming French shows in the wake of the tragedy, alongside Foo Fighters who pulled the rest of their European tour

Deftones were due to play the very same venue where the terrorists attacked. Now, they have spoken out to fans, revealing that they were in the Bataclan at the time, but that all of the band and crew are accounted for and safe. They will, however, be temporarily returning home:

"Hello all-

"Much has been said, as well as seen, on every media outlet about the events in Paris. Some of us were in attendance at the Le Bataclan, and the rest of our family, just blocks away on this night. We have been to Paris many, many times, and we’ve had some of the most amazing shows in this tremendously electric city.

"With this being said, and with our deepest condolences, love and respect to everyone affected, and to all of us who share this planet, we must return home to our loved ones. We will return when appropriate.

"For ticket holders, we will have more information soon, so please hang tight.

"Until then, please never forget the power of gathering, and one of the most unbelievable feelings of all: that P.M.A.

"With much love and respect,

"Deftones"

A Deftones spokesman has confirmed to Gigwise that all upcoming shows have been cancelled.

A state of emergency continues across France, after ISIS admitted responsibility for the attacks. A music journalist, merchandise seller, record exec and a lawyer were among those to lose their lives in the tragic attacks

To show solidarity, fans have started a campaign to get Eagles Of Death Metal to No.1.
