The late great David Bowie was an artist renowned for his honesty and high standards. Well, those qualities became manifest when he turned down the chance to work with Coldplay on a track - and delivering a pretty cutting remark.
While fans are now attempting to take quality control into their own hands after launching a petition to stop Kanye West from recording an album of David Bowie covers in tribute, but in latter years of Bowie's life, he had some very harsh words for Coldplay.
Frontman Chris Martin wrote to Bowie, asking him to lend his vocals to a three-part harmony on a new Coldplay track - to which Bowie simply replied "It's not a very good song, is it?"
"He was very discerning – he wouldn't just put his name to anything," Coldplay's Will Champion told NME. I'll give him credit for that!"
Meanwhile, this week has seen Bowie's son and acclaimed film director Duncan Jones break his Twitter silence after his father's death, sharing a moving letter from a cancer doctor.
Bowie's family also spoke out to thank fans for their love and support, revealing that Bowie will have a private and intimate funeral.
