All Saints are to reveal their comeback single, inspired by Nicole Appletone's divorce from Liam Gallagher, next week.
'One Strike' will be the '90s girlband's first new material in a decade. They split in 2001, but reformed in 2006 with a third album, Studio 1. The album entered the charts at No.40 though, falling significantly short of their prior successes. As a result, the band cancelled a scheduled UK tour, and split once again. Melanie Blatt told i-D, "I don't think it was done for the right reasons... I know that I did it for the money."
In 2009, she told London Lite, "All Saints are never getting back together again" - but the group did reform four years later, when they supports Backstreet Boys on tour, and performed at G-A-Y and V Festival.
Now, they're launching another comeback, and new single 'One Strike' is set for release on 26 February. Shaznay Lewis recently revealed that the song was inspired by bandmate Nicole Appleton's split from Oasis' Liam Gallagher.
"The lyrics came from somewhere very real," Lewis told NME. "Nic was going through a lot of things at that time. That was at the forefront of my mind because it was the heaviest thing going on."
