David Bowie's son Duncan Jones has spoken out to give a glowing endorsement to Lorde and Gary Oldman's tribute to his father at last night's BRIT Awards.
Last night, after a moving introduction from Annie Lennox and Gary Oldman, Lorde took to the stage with Bowie's live band for a beautiful rendition of 'Life On Mars'. After he slammed Lady Gaga's Grammys tribute last week as 'mentally confused', all eyes were Bowie's son and the acclaimed film director to see whether or not he would approve of the BRITs effort.
Taking to Twitter, he described it as 'just...beautiful - thank you':
Finally found the links to tonight's Brits. Just... beautiful. Thank you.

Accepting the BRIT award on Bowie's behalf was his longtime friend, actor Gary Oldman. "We are all coming to terms with the magnitude of David's passing," began Oldman. "The Jones family lost a husband and a father, those closest to David lost a dear friend, and the world lost a man - an artist - of transcendent talent."
He added, "Over his career, David challenged and changed our understanding of the medium. In his very unique way, he also reminded us to never take ourselves too seriously. David was funny. He was funny, hilariously so, and the laughs were many and massive, and I shall miss them."
He concluded: "I can share with you that David faced his illness with enormous courage, dignity, grace and customary humour, even in dire circumstances. When he wrote to tell me the bad news that he had cancer, he added, 'The good news is I've got my cheekbones back.' He was the sweetest soul ever, with the best cheekbones, until it was done. David, we love you and we thank you."
Following the criticism of Lady Gaga's performance, Nile Rodgers' spoke out in her defence - adding that 'Bowie would have been proud'.
This month also saw Duncan Jones announce that he and his wife are expecting a child, and revealed an awesome card in which he told David Bowie that he was due to become a grandfather.
