After days of confusion, All Tomorrow's Parties have confirmed that their Stewart Lee and Drive Like Jehu curated ATP events will go ahead next month, despite rumours of cancellation.
Yesterday, fear spread among fans after the venue of Pontins in Prestatyn told customers that 'organisers had cancelled the event', leading to confusion when ATP responded that this was due to a 'miscommunication' and that both Lee's event and the All Tomorrow's Parties curated by Drive Like Jehu would 'go ahead as planned'. Stewart Lee then spoke out to say that he was also in the dark and 'was in the same boat as everyone else'.
Now, ATP have taken to Facebook to reassure customers.
"For clarity, and to reassure customers who have purchased tickets or travel for the upcoming festivals, these events will go ahead as scheduled: at Pontins Prestatyn, on 15th-17th April & 22nd-24th April," they said.
"We would like to apologise for our silence today, and for not getting back to all of your questions individually. We have been working with Pontins Management to release a full statement confirming this within the next 24 hours."
In 2014, the ATP-curated Jabberwocky Festival was also cancelled at the last minute, causing much frustration and many complaints from fans that were awaiting refunds and bands had arranged to play.
The Stewart Lee curated ATP takes place from 15-17 April and features The Fall, Sleaford Mods, Roky Erickson, Sun Ra Arkestra, a comedy set from himself and more, while the Drive Like Jehu event takes place from 22-24 April and also features Rocket From The Crypt, Diamanda Galas, Omar Souleyman, Metz, Wire and loads more.
