That feeling of loving something so completely that you get swept away in the feeling and feel ultimately at a loss as a result. We've all been there, right? That universal longing has been translated with sublime results in Cape Cub's epic new track, 'Swim'. Check out the video exclusively on Gigwise first below.
Chad Male, aka Cape Cub, perfectly encapsulates the rougher side of love with a pining vocal, aching beautiful textures and vivid story-telling. The track is chilling dose of pop-noir, which sees him rival the likes of London Grammar and James Vincent McMorrow. The accompanying visuals are fittingly cinematic.
"In the song there's a sense of isolation, nostalgia and reflection," he says. "This is something we wanted to communicate somehow in the video, so Mendo our drummer and I woke up at around 4am to film it across the road from my mam's house. The coast is a huge part of the identity of Cape Cub and we wanted to catch the solitude and mystique of the early sunrise on the beach, a beach which I grew up right near.”
Cape Cub plays the Waiting Room on 30 March, after releasing the Closer EP on 25 March. Pre-order it here.
