Great news for fans of The Avalanches - due to some activity on their social media, it would appear that the band is set to return.
The Australian band have cleared all of their social media accounts and uploaded a picture of a golden butterfly. The changes were made today, and heavily suggest that the band’s long-awaited follow-up to their 2001 debut, Since I Left You, will finally be released.
Their Instagram now has only one post and it is this:

It was reported in 2013 that the band’s second album was due to be released in 2014. But back in 2015 when The Avalanches announced they were still working on their second album, Consequence of Sound reported that a representative of the band said: “Album sounds awesome, but there’s no dates or anything planned. The official line is ‘stay tuned’.”
Whilst the band’s future has been shrouded in mystery, one thing is clear, and that is there have been constant changes in lineup. The Avalanches parted ways with their founding member, Darren Seltman, and the band were last known to be a duo of just, Robbie Chater and Tony Di Blasi.
