Have Radiohead fans figured out the release date of their new album?

Is 'Dawn Chorus' the biggest clue?

While the world waits patiently for news of Radiohead's new album ahead of their upcoming tour, fans believe they have figured out the potential release date - and it could be sooner than we originally thought.

The band, whose ninth album is said to be a 'work of art', have been working on the record for around two years now. With a massive world tour and some huge festival appearances imminent, fans are eager for new material before the dates kick off on 20 May.

Now, as DIY reports, fans on Reddit are speculating that the record will drop on 1 May. Said date comes from the fact that the first Sunday of May every year is known as International Dawn Chorus Day - the day when birds grow louder in the spirit of Spring, apparently.

Anyway, Radiohead curiously formed their own company Dawn Chorus LLP - just as they did prior to the release of In Rainbows and The King Of Limbs. The creation of the company suggests that everything is in place for the record to drop, but does the name suggest that it will be on 1 May? Time will tell, there's only a few weeks to wait...

Meanwhile, it was recently reported that the band have made a music video in Los Angeles with There Will Be Blood director Paul Thomas Anderson

The band recently had their current record label XL purchase their back catalogue from Parolophone - seeing a number of tracks and albums disappear from Spotify and streaming services

It looks like album No.9 could drop any day now, especially after the band formed their own company Dawn Chorus LLP - just as they did prior to the release of In Rainbows and The King Of Limbs. We also got our first taste of new material when the band unveiled their alternative James Bond theme song 'Spectre' (much to Sam Smith's dismay).

Not only that, but the band's producer Nigel Godrich seems to have moved on to working on the new Red Hot Chili Peppers' album. This comes after artist and collaborator Stanley Donwood claims that while it may not be finished yet, Radiohead's new album is 'a work of art'
