The actor and musician is set to play The Joker in the forthcoming film
Jared Leto sent anal beads, used condoms and a dead pig to his Suicide Squad castmates in preparation for his role as The Joker - much to everybody’s justified disgust.
The 30 Seconds To Mars frontman will play the comic book villain in the forthcoming film, which also stars the likes of Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Cara Delevingne. In a new interview with E! News, while the interviewer listed the bizarre things he’d sent his cast-mates, Leto interrupted, “Don’t forget the anal beads, and used condoms. I know it’s a family show, but we can educate people here. At least they were used.”
He continued, "I did a lot of things to create a dynamic, to create an element of surprise, of spontaneity, and to really break down any kind of walls that may be there. The Joker is somebody who doesn’t really respect things like personal space or boundaries.” And apparently, Jared Leto is someone with no concept of what is appropriate.
Speaking to the same interviewer, Leto’s cast-mates spoke of their unease at the ‘gifts’. “Jared went full Joker, and the rule generally is never go full Joker,” said Will Smith. "He wasn’t playing with it, he was dead serious.” Margot Robbie, meanwhile, said, “I can’t even begin to tell you the weird things I got.”
Meanwhile, at the end of last year, Leto was forced to publicly apologise after TMZ published a video in which he takes aim at Taylor Swift.
