Liam Gallagher has been criticised for posting a bizarre tweet about Russian football fans littered with homophobic slurs.
UPDATE: Gallagher has now apologised for the tweet, saying, "If I've upset anybody with my tweets I apologise that includes you RKID as you were LG x"
Amidst news of further clashes between England and Russian fans at Euro 2016 in France, the former Oasis musician wrote, “Russian hooligans skintight shorts bumbags batty boy muscles ha ha I'd be more worried bout getting me arse pinched.”

The comments have been strongly criticised by people on Twitter, particularly in the wake of the recent mass shootings at a gay club in Orlando.
Hi Liam 49 people were killed in a gay club last wkend so if you *have* to use outdated slurs can u wait a bit? SK X https://t.co/34pB3djZKg

Gallagher isn’t the first musician to land himself in hot water over the Euro 2016 clashes. Florence + The Machine guitarist Rob Ackroyd caused controversy, and subsequently apologised, after tweeting “I hope the English fans are getting a good kicking.”
