The world of pop rolls on. Even after the death of some music icons this year, the world of pop is as self-involved as ever, and not letting up on their tirade of awfulness. Sub-par songs have infected the mainstream, and been given the credit they don't deserve. But like an X-Factor Christmas number one, they are taken to like a moth to a flame, but forgotten about just as quick.

My god, though, there have been some musical attrocities over the past year. Even though it's only August, you could argue that the worst has been. Things can surely only get better. But, if like a lot of people, you simply don't get Drake. Or why people buy Selena Gomez records, then this list might just make sense to you.

10. Justin Bieber – Love Yourself

This song was so catchy, but that’s what made it the sublime annoyance that it was. The lyrics, were so stupid for christ’s sake. As Bieber whines, “I didn’t want a write song, because I didn’t want people to think I care, I don’t but, you still hit my phone up”. He went and wrote a song. So does he care? Idiot.

9. Rihanna Ft Drake – Work

This whole single absolutely reeks of a PR Scheme. How fitting that pretty much straight after it the duo announced themselves as a couple. Probably playing on their own insecurities that no-one cares. Also, that dance. It was as embarrassing as Rihanna’s supposedly sold-out Wembley show.

8. Drake – Summer Sixteen

Hahahaha. Drake is so bad. This completely unimaginative chorus completely proves it. It’s a real shame that Bo’Selecta didn’t stick around long enough to have Avid Merrion do his own impression of Drake. What a missed opportunity.

7. Lukas Graham – 7 years

Have you ever saw that video of the rapper, Slim Jesus? Well Lukas Graham, and this song, is like that but strangely popular.

6. Shawn Mendes – Stitches

The world has enough Connor Maynards, thank you.

5. Mike Posner – I Took A Pill In Ibiza

Is this a joke? Is he a Weird Al’ Yankovic tribute? He took a pill in abeeza? How was this song allowed.

4. Meghan Trainor – No

No. No. No. No. NO.

3. Gnash Ft Olivia O’Brien – I Hate U I Love U

At least have some respect for grammar, if you're going to disrespect music fans. It’s not cool, it’s certainly not clever, and this is certainly not good.

2. Selena Gomez – Kill Em With Kindness

This is case and point as to why Disney Stars should not try their hand at being a pop star. The Jonas Brothers didn’t have much shelf life, and neither will Selena Gomez. Go ahead, go ahead now and stop what you’re doing Selena Gomez.

1. Drake – One Dance feat Kyla and Wizkid

Drake used the word “oti” on this track. Everybody thought it made him a genius. Little do they realise, that it was probably to make sure that the beats and syllables matched up. Not a genius, in fact, quite the opposite. He run out of words. He’s a rapper, surely his vocabulary is meant to be quite extensive. Connor Maynard covered it as well. Christ’s sake.
