Kasabian have been announced as the second headliner for Reading & Leeds 2017.
The Leicester electro rockers join the previously announced Muse at the top end of the bill for the legendary Bank Holiday bash, while Two Door Cinema Club, Wiley, Fatboy Slim, Circa Waves, Flume, Jimmy Eat World, Rat Boy and The Amity Affliction are the latest additions to the line-up.
One of a raft of European festival shows already announced by the band for Sziget, Rock In Roma and Benicassim, Kasabian’s Reading & Leeds set will cap a celebratory summer following the release of their sixth album, the follow-up to 2014’s ’48:13’.
“It’s been five years [since we last played Reading & Leeds], and as a band we have come a long way since then,” Kasabian commented. “We’re looking forward to playing tunes from the new record and bringing the mosh pit to Reading & Leeds Festival!”
Two Door Cinema Club, who will be playing the dual-site festival on the back of their celebrated new album ‘Gameshow’, praised the line-up so far. "It's so good to be back at Reading and Leeds, it's always a highlight of our summer,” they said. “Good to see so many guitar bands on the bill this year as well."
Organiser Melvin Benn has called the line-up so far “one of the best yet” and promises that the third headliner will be revealed soon. The Stone Roses and Eminem are amongst the acts rumoured to be taking the final slot. Acts already announced for the weekend are Major Lazer, Bastille, At The Drive In, Glass Animals, Architects, Andy C, Against The Current, While She Sleeps and Danny Brown.
Reading & Leeds will take place at Little John’s Farm on Ritchfield Avenue in Reading and Bramham Park in Leeds on 25-27 August. Check here for ticket information.
