Yep, you read that correctly. Arcade Fire are set to play an intimate show in Scunthorpe next month. Bizzare...but we're totally up for it.
A tweet from the trusted Arcade Fire Tube fan site claimed that the Canadian powerhouse will take to the stage at The Baths Hall in Scunthorpe on June 7, ahead of their Isle Of Wight Festival headline appearance on June 10. The Bandsintown app also alerted users with news of the upcoming show.
Though fans were left equally excited and confused at the prospect of Win Butler and co rocking up in the northern town, the venue's official twitter page has as good as confirmed the rumours, and the gig is now listed on the band's website. You couldn't make it up.

Looks like Arcade Fire are playing a small gig at The Baths Hall in Scunthorpe(!) on June 7th. Stay tuned for more info on this. pic.twitter.com/AYLZUyOiTT
The announcement follows news that the band played an incredibly intimate show in Montreal this weekend. Montreal Gazette reported that the band premiered six new tracks to around 50 guests, who had to leave their phones at the door to avoid dodgy leaks. Arcade Fire Tube claimed that the band could have been filming for a new music video at the show. It's happening.
We know the guys like a surprise, but we really didn't see this one coming.
So tonight was fun. We made the NME by waving and replied solely with Gifs.

See you when you all wake up...
Tiny shows aside, Arcade Fire are also set to play a number of European festivals following Isle Of Wight. The band are due to appear at Best Kept Secret, Rock Werchter, Roskilde and more, as well as a show at Manchester's Castlefield Bowl.
