David Ford

David Ford is Columbia Records newest and flashest accessory after finding him at the SXSW convention 2006. Hailing from Lewes in East Sussex David is capable of being a walking one-man band. His Bob Dylan qualities are appealing to audiences on both sides of the Atlantic after a successful set of dates supporting KT Tunstall in the USA and a tour with Manchester giants Starsailor in the UK. His debut album I Sincerely Apologise For All The Trouble I’ve Caused was released in October 2005 without a huge promotional release. However, David had already created a buzz and was selling out 300+ capacity venues in London. The album itself focuses on the disappointments which fill our lives but has defiant moments which David describes as is way of telling himself to ‘cheer up you miserable fuck’.   The debut single I Don’t Care What You Call Me was Mojo magazines ‘track of the year’. Other top music publications such as Q have described him as ‘bewitching’. His live performances have created a lot of interest both with his band and for track State Of The Union where David plays all the instruments with the help of a loop pedal. David setting the camera to record and performing a one take live performance of the track created the Video for State Of The Union. It left record companies propositioning him left, right and centre.   David turned down some very appealing offers in order to keep creative control over his music not allowing a record company to mould him into something he was not. This eventually paid of with successful independent label Independiente releasing his debut album. The label is also home to up and coming electro rockers White Rose Movement as well as playing host to Paul Weller and Travis.   David has been constantly gigging since the release of his first album with intentions of  realesing a second album in Autumn 2006. At the start of 2006 he sat on top of the world, and nothing seems to be bringing him down.
