Pet Shop Boys Praise Arctic Monkeys

And blast modern pop music...

Pet Shop Boys’ Neil Tennant has blasted contemporary pop music acts like Shayne Ward, saying that the real pop music now lies with guitar acts.

Tennant believes that bands like Arctic Monkeys are bastions of pop music’s flame, not reality TV show winners.

He said: "We are going through a phase where the term 'pop' is used to mean rubbish. "But bands like the Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, The Killers and Franz Ferdinand make pop music.

”They like to think they are rock but they are pop and all have a sense of fun about what they do and have a great look.”

As contact music quotes, he finished: "It annoys me that pop gets clogged up with Pop Idol and reality TV rubbish.

"Shayne Ward has a waxwork in Madame Tussauds - can you believe it?"

shayne is a brillent singer and shoud’nt be slated coz he won atalant show. he won coz that’s exactly wot he has talant. people should actally listen to his music and hear his voice and not just deside oh he won x factor so he doesent deserve sucsses because he does.

All of you r just jealous of Shaynes success its obvious you r jealous, hes got good looks and could get any girl or man he wants (thats y the pet shop boys are slating him cos they r ugly w*nkers) hes got an amazing voice thats y he won the X Factor, and if he wanted to go on2 the X Factor to find fame instead of doing it another way than thats up to him not all of u haters.
