Portishead Get 'Stuck' With Third Album

Portishead have revealed that their eight years in the making third album is set to be delayed again.

Fans had hoped that the album would shortly see the light of day after Geoff Barrow announced in June that the album was coming together for the first time in ages.

However, posting on the bands myspace page Barrow announced that the follow up to 1998’s ‘Roseland NYC Live’ isn't going as well as he'd like.

He wrote: "Work ain't good at the moment. We've got stuck. Just a few more months and we can really go at it. Working everyday on this fucker. It's really hard not to sound like you're doing a bad impression of yourself.”

"We should become a boy band...2 blokes and Beth (Gibbons), like Steps. Only a few more to go...stay on target...stay on target."

Barrow also dismissed his previous tongue in cheek remarks about Danger Mouse producing the record saying "I'd rather poo in my mum's Sunday roast than have Danger Mouse produce a Portishead record.”
