John Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono is set to award two massive peace grants to celebrate what would have been The Beatles legend’s 66th birthday.
Ono is giving out $50,000 to rights campaigners Center for Constitutional Rights and the medical group Medecins Sans Frontieres.
The Lennon Ono Grant for Peace was set up four years ago and aims to help those pushing for things Lennon would have approved of.
Of the two new organisations, Ono told Reuters they "selflessly and tirelessly towards establishing a more peaceful planet.”
The grants will be handed over at the Hofdi House in Reykjavik, Iceland.
