Singer-songwriter Peter Gabriel received the prestigious ‘Man Of Peace’ Award in Rome yesterday.
Gabriel – who recently snubbed a reformation of Genesis – received the prestigious annual award from a foundation created by former USSR president Mikhail Gorbachev in Capitoline Hill for his promotion of human rights and world peace.
Although Gorbachev missed the ceremony due to ill-health Nobel Peace Prize winners including former Polish leader Lech Walesa saw Gabriel to join a list of past winners including Sir Bob Geldof and Yusaf Islam.
