Lou Reed To Play Unique European Tour

Playing 'Berlin' in its entirety...

The great Lou Reed is set to play his landmark 1973 album ‘Berlin’ in its entirety on a newly announced European jaunt this summer.

The Velvet Underground legend plays a total of nine shows including a two night stint at London’s Hammersmith Apollo on June 30 and July 1.

Reed will be joined by a 30-piece ensemble on the shows that features his full backing band, a children’s choir and a string and horn section.

Speaking about the shows, he commented: “I only do this every thirty years. One time, one time only. You can tell your kids you saw Lou Reed’s Berlin.”

‘Berlin’ received it original world premiere in its entirety at St Anne’s Warehouse in New York last December.

Tickets for the London shows go on sale from 9am this Friday (March 16) at 9am, and are available for the rest of Europe on Saturday.
