Cosmic metallers Monster Magnet have announced a 24-date European and UK tour in support of their new album, the fabulously titled Mindfucker. The album is released on March 24 and the band will return to these shores in May and June.
Monster Magnet’s European campaign kicks off a Wiesbaden’s Schlachtof in Germany on 3 May and winds up at the Dublin’s the Tivoli on 4 June. In between, the band will call at London, Manchester and Glasgow as well continental destinations including Berlin, Madrid, Stockholm and Milan. But absolutely no dates in France. So what’s that all about, then?
Speaking about the new record - the band’s tenth - Monster Magnet frontman Dave Wyndorf enthused: “Mindfucker is a fuzzed out, headbangin’ celebration of hard rock and 21st century paranoia. Ten fuel-injected, nitro-burning tracks of fiery rock’n’roll and garage psych madness – all done Monster Magnet style.
“It’s also an album that gets right to the point – the world is out of its fucking mind and I’m livin’ it… for better or worse. It’s simple, really. In these crazy times I’ve been wanting to just drive my car at 100 miles per hour and howl.
“So I wrote songs I can do that with. And with lyrics that don’t deny the times we’re living in. Feels good, feels right. Rock is alive, baby!”
