Elton John made a surprise appearance at the o2 Arena last night, joining Prince onstage for a cover of The Beatles’ ‘The Long and Winding Road.’

Sir Elt joined the pint-sized pop star onstage during the encore of the latest leg of Prince’s 21 night residency.

The pair hugged immediately after their performance before Prince told the crowd “You know who it is – Sir Elton John!”

The cover version was one of a seven song encore which also included Sign O’ The Times’ and ‘When Doves Cry.’

Elton John had been spotted in the crowd before the encore, with the audience cheering when he was filmed on the stage side screens.
